Lifts with hooks/anchoring lifts allow for achieving a lifting effect by mechanically pulling up the skin and stimulating collagen fibre synthesis. The procedure may be performed on the face to improve its oval and reduce deep wrinkles and folds, as well as to model the shape of the nose or chin.
PDO thread procedure involves placing the threads under the skin using special cannulas. The first stage of the procedure is to determine a number of threads, which will be used during the procedure, and their location. Then, the skin is topically anesthetised and the threads are inserted into the desired position, using long cannulas. Most importantly, the procedure does not require incision of the skin and it does not leave scars. Only topical punctures of the skin are made, which heal quickly. The procedure usually takes from 30 to 45 minutes. Immediately after the procedure, redness and swelling as well as overcorrection may occur, and the recovery period lasts approximately for 10-14 days. During this time, the Patient should take care to limit facial expressions, which will help prevent possible movement of the threads.

Threads with hooks or anchoring threads can be used to improve facial contours, smooth out wrinkles and folds and contour selected areas of the face. During the procedure up to several dozen threads may be used, and the whole procedure takes about an hour. The threads are inserted under the skin in accordance with its natural tension lines, which allows for achieving a very natural effect. The procedure is characterised by low invasiveness and low pain, it is performed under topical anaesthesia. Threads in the cannula are introduced under the skin, and when the cannula is pulled out, the threads remain in the body anchored in the skin with special hooks.
Thanks to thread lifting, we can reduce visibility of such undesirable changes in facial appearance, as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, drooping cheeks and saggy cheeks, chin folds, wrinkles on the cheeks and bags under the eyes.
Properly performed thread lifting improve the facial oval, which translates into comprehensive rejuvenation. As a result of the treatment, the cheeks are elevated and given extra volume, saggy cheeks and corners of the mouth are lifted, and the jawline is shaped. Moreover, PDO threads smooth skin, add elasticity and smooth out wrinkles. Ultimately, they allow for achieving the effect of rejuvenation and facelift, which is comparable to the effects once reserved exclusively for lifting with a scalpel. With age, proportions of the face are distorted. Collagen fibres weaken, subcutaneous fatty tissue slowly disappears, and all this makes the face subject to the gravity. The tissues gradually fall downwards, accumulating in excess in the lower parts of the face. V-lifting aims to reverse these changes and restore the face to a triangular shape with the top pointing downwards.

The Foxy Eyes brow elevation procedure involves gently shaping and lifting the brow arches, as well as raising drooping eyelids. Thanks to thread lifting we can perform a non-invasive lifting of the eye and eyebrow area. The main indication for the procedure is a desire to raise drooping eyebrows, giving the face a stern look and optically closing the eye. The procedure is also performed to elevate drooping upper eyelids, as well as to smooth out fine wrinkles around the eye area. And finally – the most spectacular effect is the possibility of achieving a phenomenal shape of cat eye, with slightly raised outer corner of the eye. The procedure can be performed in those who naturally have low set eyebrows and drooping corners of the eyes, as well as those whose changes in the appearance of the eye area result from progressive skin aging. With age, “drooping” of the face soft tissues can be observed, which results from disappearance of collagen fibres and weakening of the skin structure. Thanks to the use of PDO lifting threads, we can immediately elevate the eyebrows and the eye corners. Additionally, around the gradually dissolving threads a mesh of newly synthesised collagen and elastin fibres is built. In this way, we can achieve an effect that lasts for many months.
Eyebrow elevation with PDO threads is a short procedure, lasting about 40 minutes. It is minimally invasive, requiring only a puncture. The treatment site is anesthetised with lidocaine, after which threads are implanted with a thin cannula. After the procedure, the Patient may experience swelling and bruising as well as “too high” skin tension – these symptoms disappear spontaneously within a few days. After the procedure, the Patient need to limit facial expressions, avoid sun exposure and do not rub your face in the treatment site.

Thanks to thread lifting, we can correct double chin. An unquestionable advantage of the procedure is the possibility of obtaining a natural effect. The threads allow for pulling up flaccid skin located in the chin area. Such an excess of loose, inflexible skin may appear as a result of physiological decrease in collagen synthesis and skin thinning, which is characteristic for people of mature age. But this is not the only cause – skin flaccidity and a double chin may, for example, accompany weight reduction diet, after which some loose skin may remain. In some people, a double, flabby chin is simply an individual feature and results from a slightly receding chin. In either of these cases, appearance of the chin may be corrected with a minimally invasive procedure, which takes 30 minutes and requires no lengthy recovery.
The procedure involves insertion of threads with a special needle in selected areas on the chin. A thread with hooks immediately pulls up loose skin, shaping the chin and improving appearance of the face in the jawline area. A puncture is made in the jawline area and the needle is directed to the centre of the chin. In this way, lifting threads create a kind of “hammock”, which supports a flaccid chin like a scaffolding. Treatment effects appear immediately and last up to a year, which is a result of gradual dissolution of the threads and stimulation of collagen fibre synthesis.

Nose correction with PDO threads is a nose tip lifting. This procedure is an alternative to surgical, highly invasive rhinoplasty procedures. Lifting threads elevate a nose tip, thanks to which the nose is more upturned and gains a neat, proportional shape. A spectacular effect is achieved in case of individuals with a lowered, downward pointing nose tip. The procedure can also correct the shape of a nose with a low nasal bone and improve the angle between the upper lip and the nose tip. Thanks to the use of thread lifting, we can even gently correct the nose curvature – slight asymmetry can be easily modified to a desired shape. It is also possible to correct a small hump on the back of the nose.
The procedure takes about 30 minutes and requires topical aesthesia. A thread is introduced with a special cannula, and after withdrawing the cannula, the thread remains in a desired position. Threads used to correct the shape of the nose dissolve for up to two years, and effects of the procedure last for about one year. However, given that the effect depends not only on mechanical pulling up of soft tissues with threads, but also on synthesis of new collagen fibres, subtle effects last longer than the period of thread dissolution. If necessary, the procedure may be repeated. The puncture site heals very quickly, slight swelling and overcorrection may persist for several days.
Threats with hooks or anchoring threads are synthetic fibres, which are placed in the dermis. The threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), a body-friendly synthetic fibre, which is gradually biodegradable. Lifting threads dissolve from a few weeks to two years after the procedure, depending on their type. It does not mean that the effect of the treatment is short-lived. A mesh of newly synthesised collagen and elastin fibres is formed around the threads, which translates into long-term revitalisation of the treatment site. Polydioxanone remains in the skin for about six months, undergoing gradual dissolution into water and carbon dioxide.
PDO lifting threads that we use are equipped with special hooks or anchors. Each centimetre of a thread contains about 6 bi-directional hooks. When the threads are inserted deep into the skin, the hooks anchor into it and pull the tissue up to a desired position. This allows for immediate facial contouring, skin firming and wrinkle smoothing. Thus, threads with hooks create a kind of scaffolding, on which the skin is supported. But this is not the only mechanism of action. Before threads dissolve, a dense mesh of collagen fibres begins to form around them. Introduction of threads into the dermis is accompanied by intensification of neo-collagenesis, i.e. synthesis of collagen by skin fibroblasts. As a result, the skin is thickened and strengthened, and a rejuvenation effect persists for many months after PDO threads dissolve. Thanks to such an advanced and long-lasting effect, we can use lifting threads with hooks or anchors to effectively counteract gravitational changes in the skin, which can appear as early as after the age of 30. It means that rejuvenation treatment with PDO threads is not reserved only for mature people with advanced signs of aging. The procedure can also be performed in younger individuals, who want to reduce the first signs of aging or change facial features.
Effects may be different in different individuals. It depends on natural physiognomy, chosen technique and a type of threads used. Discuss your expectations and options in detail before the procedure.
I highly recommend!
During the consultation, we discuss the expected effect and chose the best method for the Patient. Before the procedure, an anaesthetic ointment is applied to significantly reduce pain sensations, and then topical anaesthesia is administered in the form of subcutaneous injections. During the procedure, a cannula containing a thread is inserted into deep parts of the skin. When the cannula is removed, the thread stays in the skin and is anchored with special hooks. In the next stage, the threads are stretched to the appropriate level and trimmed.
The use of lifting threads with hooks or anchors is accompanied by two mechanisms that comprehensively affect improving appearance of the skin. The first mechanism is mechanical pulling up of the skin, thanks to which the treatment site is elevated and shaped. The second mechanism is activation of skin fibroblasts by polydioxane. This results in increased synthesis of collagen and elastin fibres. This synergistic action of PDO threads guarantees an extremely effective rejuvenating effect. In case of a full face lift, the effect is restoration of a proper shape of the face, with a wider frontal and zygomatic area and a narrower chin. The procedure can also smooth deep wrinkles and folds, elevate eyebrows and correct a double chin.
The procedure does not require much preparation.
Do not consume alcohol, caffeine or drugs 24 hours before the procedure.
One week before the procedure do not take common painkillers, as they thin the blood and may cause more bruises. Garlic and onion have a similar effect.
If you take NSAIDs, talk to your GP and ask if you can discontinue them two weeks before your procedure. If your GP refuses, don’t discontinue your medication on your own! Tell us about it.
PDO thread implantation is a major procedure. It involves a recovery period, which lasts for 2-4 weeks. Bruising, swelling, and redness may occur during healing. A characteristic stage of healing after thread lifting is significant overcorrection. When healing, the skin drops by about 50%, so during the procedure the threads “must be pulled “too tightly”. Thanks to that, a final effect is optimal. For 2-3 weeks, the Patient may notice rolling of the skin in the thread implantation site as well as dimples in the places of punctures. It disappears spontaneously and is not a cause for concern. Up to 30 days, the implantation site should not be massaged, stretched and intense facial expression should be limited. Any excessive tension of the skin creates the risk of rupture of the threads and reducing the final effect.
There are not many contraindications to lifting thread implantation, but they must be taken into consideration. Below you will find the most important of them.
